I came up with this May fly Dry pattern several years ago . I tie it in both a Blue Wing Olive and a Red Quill in sizes #18 to #12. This pattern works very well on the Arkansas river, South Platte river and is a great imitation for the Green Drake. Give it a try it will make your day. Here is how to tie this pattern.
Hook; Mustad 94840 #18-#12
Thread; Uni thread 8/0 olive or light brown
Tail; Grizzly hackle
Body; 5mm clear stretch cord
Wing; deer hair
Indicator; Flo pink poly yarn
Hackle; Grizzly hackle tied parachute style
Notes; The color of thread makes the color of the fly and can be changed to match any May fly. When trimming the butt ends of the wing and indicator trim them at an angle.
